Betheljahr 27+

For everybody aged 27 years and more.

According to the introduction of the German ‘Bundesfreiwilligendienst’ people older than 27 years now have the opportunity to participate in the voluntary social year at Bethel –the Betheljahr. We call this ‘Betheljahr 27+’. We offer you a good opportunity to get to know fields of work in welfare and health care, to personally develop and to seek a new challenge professionally.

Positions in Betheljahr 27+ are available in virtually any field of activity and region of the v. Bodelschwinghschen Stiftungen Bethel: the eastern Ruhr area, Bergisches Land, Siegerland, Ostwestfalen, Bielefeld, region Hannover, Freistatt, Bremen and Stade.

Also participants of the Betheljahr 27+ get attended and supported by the consultants of the Freiwilligenagentur and qualified staff members. Furthermore there are workshops of at least 12 days, which are offered with different durations (1 day/ several days/ weeks).

Usually the Betheljahr 27+ takes 12 months, but it can already be recognised as German Bundesfreiwilligendienst and sometimes can be extended up to 18 months. Generally it is a full-time position with 3 hours per week, In particular cases this can be reduced to a minimum of 19.5 hours per week. The standard annual leave currently is 27 days.

Payments for Betheljahr 27+ and Betheljahr are the same, in total 649. -  €. This amount contains pocket money and clothing allowance (190.- €), subsistence allowance (236.- €) and lodging (223.-  €). All amounts will be directly paid out to you. For recipients of Hartz 4 an amount of 175.- € remains per month. When required, an accommodation can be offered by Bethel.
